We Are Hairy People Review

About a year ago I stumbled across a website called We Are Hairy People, they are based in the UK and make hand painted clothing that I absolutely love, I wrote this post ages ago and have only know realised that it was never actually published, in that time the company has grown tremendously, their clothing has since been stocked in Urban Outfitters in America. I own two tshirts by them, one is turquoise with multicoloured birds painted on the front, and the other is yellow with a sort of space like zigzag around the collar, it's hard to explain but hopefully you can see what I mean from the photos.
I particularly like these tops as they seem more personal and special due to the hand painted detail, I feel like it gives the clothes more of a personality. The fabric of the tshirt is standard 100% Cotton, and the dyes used on them last well, my only issue with the tops is that that the pretty painted labels are not particularly well attatched and so quite quickly fall off. I wouldn't normally complain about labels but these ones are so cute it seems a shame for them to end up in the bin. Another thing that I love about We Are Hairy People is that (atleast from their website) they seem like genuinely nice people who are just doing something that they love doing which  makes the clothes even more fun.
All in all I would reccomend you check them out .
PS. they're pants are super cute too.

Bastille concert

Just over a year ago me and my friend stumbled upon a band called 'Bastille' they were yet to release their album but as soon as we could we preordered it. Then, soon after they became a huge success, i'm certain you've heard of them. They played at Glastonbury festival last year and so me and my friends all watched in the incredibly packed John Peel tent, they were fantastic and were definitely one of my highlights of the whole festival.
I have kept their album on my phone but had recently sort of forgotten about them, but for my birthday my parents bought me two tickets to see them live. I was, of course, excited to go, but unsure as to how much i would enjoy it as i was no longer such a big fan. I took my Bastille loving friend with me and have to admit that it was one of the best shows i have ever been to. The atmosphere was superb and the music was excellent. The lights really added to the show and Bastille performed faultlessly. The warm up acts were Brother And Bones, and Angle Haze and they both were very good, i personally preferred Brother And Bones and have since been listening to more of their music and would really recommend them. I also got to touch Dan Smith which caused  me and my friend to go slightly fangirly and scream a lot.
If anybody is considering going to watch them i would definitely encourage it as i had a fantastic night.

Polaroid camera review

I thought i'd start with something i'm passionate about, photography. I own a few cameras and plan to continue to expand my collection when i have enough money to.

One of my favourite cameras in my collection is my 'Polaroid 600 Land Camera' (Onestep 600). I bought it around a year ago on eBay for a bargain price of only £20.00! It is made of the typical Polaroid plastic and is relatively lightweight and durable. The camera itself is quite large and bulky so is a bit awkward to transport but will fit most DSLR camera bags. It produces fantastic photos and the iconic Polaroid border makes them extra special. The main drawbacks of the camera are that the film for the photos is, in my opinion, incredibly expensive at around £20.00 including post and packaging, and that's only for 8 photos, but the film is very specialized as not only does it develop itself, but it contains the battery required to power the camera. As most of you will know Polaroid is no longer producing film and so you can only buy it from a specialized supplier called 'The Impossible Project' (i'll put a link at the bottom). They are a great company as they produce all the different types of film for the various Polaroid models and have also created film with different coloured borders if white isn't exciting enough for you, but as i said the film is particularly pricey. The second problem with this camera is that the quality of the photos that it produces can be quite variable but it is quite old and truthfully i think the little quirks on the pictures make them more interesting. The photos take around 25 minutes to develop but the time can vary and they need to be stored in a dark place while they do, I normally just slip mine into my camera bag for a bit. Buying a Polaroid camera off of a sight such as eBay or in a charity shop is slightly risky, as there is no guarantee that it will work but you could save yourself a lot of money as refurbished models can sell for hundreds.

I would definitely recommend investing in a Polaroid if you enjoy photography but prepare for the possibility that the camera that you buy may not function properly.

First time

Hey there, as you can probably guess from the title of this blog, my name is Ruby. I'm 16 and a pretty average teenager, I am using this blog to entertain myself through the numerous weeks of revision and exams that I am going to face soon (and hopefully entertain you too).

I am not entirely sure what I intend to write about but it will hopefully be mildly interesting.
